New store
Last friday I got this odd kick to redo Lalique.. again. I’m a nutter I know. But why spend so much time building then open it when you aren’t happy with it? There was also a couple of issues I was having besides the look. Those that have seen the build, know that I’m not only keeping up with the deco theme but each store has it’s own style and windows. Of course it needs the eloborate windows because of the name - Lalique was a deco glass maker. The problems with this was that they are midly prim heavy because of the windows and the last layout had the total count of 30 shops. While this did leave me 1/2 the sim for a park, the prim count at the end of it all would have been rather tight. I had already finished mine and 20 of the other shops using up 4,000 prims. It wasn’t looking very good.
Another issue was that while I did make my store bigger with room to make more items, there wasn’t anywhere to grow. I had locked myself in pretty baddly. Not to mention the facade was the most boring out of all the shops I’d built. Yes the inside was/is damn cool but the outside was bleh.
On Friday I started the rebuild again right above the bleh one, which probably looked right mad to anyone camming over. The facade is now far better and I have much more room specifically for men’s, couples poses, AOs and dances all of which I’m working on making more of. Just like the previous version, each type is broken up into it’s own section with a plaza in the middle. Some make look a bit scarce once it opens, but if I’m no longer building I’ll have a lot more time to animate. yay!
