Another New Year
Happy New Year!
I’m back in London now and just getting over the jet lag. Just wanted to give a heads up of the stuff coming up this year. Tomorrow I should be in almost full swing working order.
Some of you may have realized that the sim had moved. Ceres and I both decided to change the sims to be N-S instead of E-W. There are many different reasons for this, which I’ll explain more later, but mostly we want the stores to face eachother. I had been getting a lot of IMs about when I was going to rent out the shops on her sim - which I’m not that’s her store. Hopefully her computer will be fixed in enough time to open the stores at the same time. Personally I think that I shouldn’t have opened the new store when I did because I’ve wanted to change it around for quite a long time. It’s the reason why the rest of the sim hasn’t been built and looks like ass :P
The start of the Machinima Tutorials: I’ve been writing this for some time. I had been debating whether to publish this part first or wait until I have more finished. But ‘eh maybe it’ll help someone now instead of just sitting there :P
The start of the Poser Tutorials: I had first started this in a post but changing to this formating messed it all up. So I redid it, barely started tutorial 2 and wrote out a list of common issues.
Both of those I’ll be continuing to work on.
You may or may not have also noticed that I haven’t been around much. I have a tendancy to disappear on occassion because SL just starts to annoy me. If I get annoyed it’s difficult to log in, let alone be creative. I’m a bit renewed now so hopefully I can start making better stuff.
In the long term, I’ve got a couple of scripts that I’m working on for Machinima projects and I’m planning on hand animating a new swing dance in Maya.
More short term? I’ve got some new AOs, Men’s stuff, couples’ poses, furniture and of course… modeling poses.
Cheers

Hey! Thanks for those Poser tutorials, we need more technical tutorials about SL stuff and right now anything above a certain level is so rare. I’m an artist myself, mostly Photoshop, and after a year and a half I’m still trying to find a niche for my creativity inworld. I always get very excited about picking up new skills and how many awesome things can be done in Second Life, then get annoyed trying to learn and finding out how many things don’t work like they’re supposed to. I haven’t done much in 3-D rendering and animation so even though you say Poser sucks, I was thrilled to try it out after playing with Avimator. Then I was angry at how much you can’t do with the Linden’s dummy as far as controling how it moves and bends. Anyway, I found your first two lessons very enlightning and got a lot of progress, can’t wait for the others to be cooked up! Now if one of the Lindens could make a decent skinning tutorial instead of “how to use your pie menu” I’d be on my way to something good. :) Anywho, enough blabber I haven’t logged in a while myself, so I thought I might pay a visit and see who’s online. See you around!
