New Single Pose Vendors!
Today I set out updated vendors that work with the store cards (finally), doesn’t force the camera behind you, and you can cycle through the poses with your arrow keys which makes it go a lot smoother.
Other Gift Ideas:
Most of the items I sell can also be gifted through onrez and xstreet. The items that are not listed are just some of the discounted poses.
Why I won’t sell you transferable poses:
A lot ask for transferable poses for a more personal gift exchange and the reason is simple: anything that most people put into an object, should be copyable. We’ve all had that problem when SL is being odd, you drag something out of inventory, it doesn’t fully rez, maybe you crash about this time and the object goes *poof*. A piece of furniture most people can live with loosing, but what about your entire animation inventory in a pose stand? Or whatever animation hud you use?
I’ve been friends with Keiki Lemieux (huddles) for a couple of years now and she’s been dealing with a detach bug that have many loosing the hud and all no copy animations inside. But since we’ve been working on a large project together - more on that next week - I hear about it on almost a daily basis. I should have said something earlier, but I’m a bit shit on blog posts this year.
From what I understand, it can happen in 2 ways: 1. You try to put in anims while wearing it. 2. You attempt to wear it while its rezzed on the ground instead of taking it into inventory.
In case you are interested, Keiki has been compiling a list of animators who sell copy/no trans version of their anims.
When I started making my first AO (2006 I think), it was before AO huds. What they used to be were itty bitty boxes that sat inside your torso. I kept dropping it on the ground to put a stand in it and often I’d loose the damn thing. I figured if I was this frustrated, customer service was going to be a nightmare. So, I started offering the choice of copy/no tran and no copy/tran. Pretty much right from the start people would only buy from the copy/no tran vendors, so I phased out the no copy/tran version.
I figure there are enough gifting work arounds out there now that this shouldn’t be a problem. It’s less of a headach for me - more time spent creating - and piece of mind for you.
Cheers!
