Arty V2 Released!

Luth Brodie

12 new poses just released. Called Arty V2. I had been planning to make this set for a long time, but never seemed to get around to it. After my long holiday and rennewed inspiration of making poses I wanted to venture back to specific roots. I also have converted the last 7 sets into “curvy” version which can be found in the vendors.

Version 1 was created 2 years ago this week and was the beginning of the types of poses that I really enjoy making. It was a creative response to a thread in the SL animation forum full of complaints of only being able to animate the body and the little you could with it. At the time, the majority of poses only showed the expression of “sexy”. I wanted to something different and that it was.

It was also the very first set of poses that had been reviewed on a fashion blog - written by Willow Zander. No longer was I a kooky animater hiding in seclusion with a few extremly dedicated fans. That set and review began the snowball effect that has been the last 2 years. Which has led me to being called “the queen of poses” by Phoenix Chapman and “the godmother of pose making in SL” by Dove Swanson. Even if in my head I’m still that crazy geek who hides out in Poser most of the time and the rest spent on the old dancing cow freebie.

In my mind I have derailed this year, like I’ve said in other posts. My spark was out and the rare times it came back, someone else would put out a set just like it before I finish. Which just made matters worse. I’m back now and ready to bring out a long list of innovative things.

Cheers!
Luth

Arty V2 Sneak Peak

Luth Brodie

Sometime tomorrow I’ll be releasing a bunch of new poses. I’ll have the new Arty set - in both “normal” version and curvy. Plus I’ll put out a number of sets converted to the curvy version. I’m trying to convert them the same week that I release them, but with the rush of having a stack to release while I was on holiday things went a bit tits up.

I have another tweaking pass to do for the new set today and tomorrow. I like to make a pass, let my mind forget about it and then look again. In the middle of it I’m converting sets so I don’t know how many I will be able to get through. I’m up to two right now so we’ll see :)

Oh yeah.. some pictures:

Pose Friendly Shape

Luth Brodie

In the comments of the post what to look for when buying poses, Violaine Villota suggested I tell some of my shape settings so you could adjust yours to be pose friendlier.

I really haven’t changed the shape much since I started SL and it’s based on what I was in RL at the time. Short, low body fat and muscular. So it’s a bit on the unusual side for most of SL. It’s what you get after 20 years of martial arts and at the time I was in kickboxing training roughly 3 hours per day on Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri and Sat. In the months leading up to ring fights, Saturdays would be 12 hour sessions and an extra 2 hours in the am every day - which was just about 1/2 the year. 2 months of added training -> fight -> 2 months “regular” -> rinse and repeat.

That’s probably a bit more info then you really needed.

Here are are the settings I think are relavant:

Body:
Height: 73
Body Thickness: 18
Body Fat: 2

Torso:
Shoulders: 40
Breast Size: 40
Arm Length: 47
Torso Length: 18
Love Handles: 36

Legs:
Leg Length: 29
Hip Width: 40
Hip Length: 51
