Login failed. Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong.
Absolutely brilliant. Rather fitting that when I try to log in for the first time in almost a year, this is the message I get.
The short version:
- Due to school/work/kung fu/life I haven’t had the time in almost a year to log in. Let alone make anything.
- Dropped all prices by 1/2.
- My store will be around until it no longer pays for the sim.
- If anyone is looking for 3/4 of a $195/month sim to rent, let me know.
Prices:
They dropped by 1/2. No real reason other than I no longer take L$ out, it all goes towards paying the sim. It messed up my taxes last year - something about being self employed and not being able to get the big tax breaks for being a student - so in Jan I started to let it accumulate for the sim.
The store/sim:
I honestly don’t know if I’ll ever make any more poses. I don’t know if I’ll ever log in after today. I may still want to dink around if I ever get the time, but who knows. At this point in time, I’d rent the sim at cost if I could keep a small shop and workspace on the off chance I’d want to.
If not, I’ll either sell it or just give it up once the L$ runs out.
The personal bits:
Last fall, I took a full time job in the graphics department of an ad agency. As well as starting a graduate degree in game development. Lack of time and just a general disinterest in anything SL related ended up with me just not logging in since.
My first year of school was completed yesterday and I have a week until summer session begins to get things in order. I’m going from part-time to full-time so I’m going from almost no extra time to defiantly no time. Classes are oddly fun and a bit of a challenge, but I’m really enjoying programming. It’s nice to think mostly with the other side of my brain.
I had been thinking about this for a while now, but since I’ve been waiting all day for my new computer parts to arrive (hurry up UPS) I decided to go ahead. I suppose this way I won’t have to install SL.
Creating for SL was a big part of my life for 6 years. It was fun, thrilling, frustrating and annoying usually all at the same time. It was great to see SL grow and change over the years, but I think my time here is over.
Thank you all for the support.
Cheers

48 new poses out now!

This was quite a challenging set. It takes quite a long for anyone in RL to be bendy enough to do Kung Fu. Trust me it’s bloody painful to do. But with the SL avatar’s considerably less range of motion than us, well… there were a few times I was about to reach through my computer and thump LL on the head.
While I mainly do San Shou (Chinese Kickboxing), once or twice a week I take a Wushu class. It’s a really pretty sport if you’ve never seen it. So these poses are inspired from that. Some of these I can do, others I know how to do but I can’t bend like that yet, some I’ve seen others do in class, and a small amount I found on the net.
Right now they are only available in the new stuff section. I woke up today only needing to do the final uploads and adverts, but what should have taken 2 hours ended up being 7. Why? Because SL wouldn’t let me upload. And I have to leave for my Wushu and then Wushu Weapons classes. And about now I’m really needing it. Should be in the main sections tomorrow.

So I’m working on new stuff for the Fashion Fest charity event this year and decided I’d send a shout out to you lovely people on what types of poses you want to see.
I need to make at least 3 different things with at least 1 being a limited edition for a silent auction. As you can see from the plethora of new releases lately, I’ve got ideas coming out of my ears, but I’d like to hear what you guys want. So respond here or IM in world with ideas and/or pictures.
And of course the person who gives an idea I use gets a free copy.
Clicky for more information on the event.

I don’t usually do this. I try to read reviews of my poses and send out personal thank you’s to the bloggers in question, but I know I miss quite a bit. I’m just not in the know anymore in that scene. Honestly, the only ones I see anymore are the ones I’m told about. I just have a lot on my plate these days with trying to balance SL, RL and making stuff.
Because of SL’s dichotomy of creativity = personal I try not to comment publicly on the basis of hurt feelings. If I comment on 1 I should comment on all. Then there comes a post when you just can’t not say anything. A review of your stuff that is so comprehensive of the details that are generally over looked but what you actually spend the most time on. It can make your day/week/month/year.
Creating items in SL is inherently depressing. Most of the time you spend pouring all of yourself into your work hoping someone somewhere will also find value in it. And generally you are all by yourself in front of a computer for countless hours at a time. So reading anything about your stuff (especially in a positive light) makes our days brighter.
So I thank you bloggers.
Cheers

Rebuilt the sim again. Above is the new map. The separate sections now boutiques instead of everything in a mega box of doom.
I also have cut the scripts down by 1/2 with putting the couples poses into vendors instead of all those poseballs laying about. It’s helped with the lag quite a bit.
