I've been beating my head against a wall trying to figure out why the poses were not previewing in the SL window, now I know! I've googled this all over and this is the only one that has actually helped me. Thanks so much for writing this. Those Lindens should make a better wiki about making poses for SL. Now I can fiddle with more poses and not have to spend too much time worrying if they will show or not. ^^

Oddly enough, so far my sales on OnRez has been better then ever since I made this post. Even better than over at SLX.

Thanks! It's interesting to be back here. I really enjoy the relaxation, but sometimes Midwesterners can really get on my nerves.

As for the jet lag, its mostly gone. I'm still sort of out of sorts, but that may just be all the sunshine :P

I'm with you on this one, Luth, I've never understood why my SLX sales are so much higher than OnRez when I can barely stand to use the site myself.

But more importantly....welcome back to North America! Hope the lag is fading by now. I'll be heading to England two days after you return, but with a somewhat shorter flight, thank God...

Kisses to you! :)

Haha. I grew up with most of my family being in and around Des Moines and now that's where my brother lives. So I'm no stranger to the area :) Plus I seem to remember those commericals ran in Lincoln all through the summers also.

However, I think I've only been to Adventure Land a couple of times since Oceans of Fun in KC was more my style. In that blistering midwestern heat, water parks are a bit easier to deal with. But the nieces and nephew have season passes and they LOVE it so it'd be a fun thing to share with them.

Yeah the Living History Farms is pretty neat. I haven't been there a lot, but I do remember one of my aunt's got married there a few years ago. But I'm not sure if I can go there again without many snide remarks with referneces to one of my favourite books - Choke.

Oddly enough during my 6 year stint in San Francisco I was hardly homesick for the midwest, but living in London I sure do miss a lot of it.

zOMG!! ADVENTURELAND! I'm originally from Iowa (Des Moines) but moved to San Diego 8 years ago.

seriously, now I can't get the silly Adventureland advertising jingle out of my head....they ran it for years "Adven-ture-land where you can ride the Tornado, see a family show or hear a rock n roll band!" ok the song goes on but now I can't remember the rest clearly :)

While in Des Moines you should check out Living History Farms. I loved that place when I was a kid, but it still might be fun as an adult.

Hrrm...now I'm feeling a bit homesick for Iowa!

Francesca,
Yay! Happy you like it. Now all you have to do is log in at some point in time and do some cow dancing with me!

Princess Ivory,

Thanks! The new stuff this time around are modeling poses that lock the head. Personally, I find that I can get more natural and interesting head tilts by animating the head and neck indead of dealing with the pains of camming around.

For using modeling poses not in a studio, most people (so I hear) use a HUD called the Huddles. For me though, I usually just double click the pose I want to use from my inventory and "play locally," which is to play the pose only to your screen. With both of those options you don't need to rez anything.

I'm just really used to doing it and don't always want to have people know that I'm working when I should be paying attention to the party :P But also because you can easily acess hundereds of poses without having to cycle through them all. But then again, I usually know which pose I want to use or at least know where to look for the specific look.

Yay, Luthie! I know how much hard work went into this build...I loved your old one, but love this more! It's so beautiful, especially your new store....and can I admit to a particular fondness for the adorable little shop with the flower windows next door? :D

Luth,

Great job - can't wait to see the new store. I love the deco credenza and deco bench!

I am always confused about using poses - are things like Pinup an AO, or a set of modeling poses for a HUD? And if so,do they lock the head?

Most of my pictures are not taken in the studio, they are taken out and about on the grid, and I need to be able to quickly access poses other than the same old standing poses I always get in my AO. And putting them in a modeling stand doesn't work, because I can't always rezz it in other locations.

I'd appreciate any advice or input, as I just cannot get my brain around this for some reason.

Thanks,
Princess Ivory
